Crafty+ vs Mighty+: Which Should You Buy in 2026?
Same Storz & Bickel heater, same temperature range, same chamber: the Mighty+ adds a second battery, a display and pass-through charging; the Crafty+ is lighter and cheaper. Here is which one to buy, from the maker's own spec pages.
Crafty+ vs Mighty+: which should you buy?
Buy the Mighty+ if you mostly vaporize at home or want the longest runtime: it carries two batteries, has an on-device display with buttons and supports pass-through charging, at about $399 from Smoke Cartel (checked October 2026). Buy the Crafty+ if pocketability or price matters more: same heater, same temperature range and same filling chamber in a lighter one-battery body run by one button plus the S&B web app, at about $279 from Smoke Cartel. The vapor is the same; the extra money buys runtime and controls.
Storz & Bickel's own store listed the Crafty+ at a special price of USD 223.20 against a regular USD 279.00 when checked in October 2026, so while that promotion runs the gap between the two is wider still. Everything below is drawn from Storz & Bickel's product pages, the Smoke Cartel listings our links point to, and Planet of the Vapes' published comparison, rather than first-hand use.
What is identical on both devices
Storz & Bickel builds both portables around the same core, and the spec pages say so almost word for word. Each uses the patented combination of convection and conduction heating, each adjusts between 104°F and 410°F, each lists a heat-up time of about 1 min to 356°F, each moves 10 liters per minute of air, and each has a ceramic-coated 1.4 cm³ filling chamber. Both have a USB-C socket and both carry IEC 60335-1 certification; the Mighty+ page adds UL 8139.
The pre-set temperatures are shared too. Per the Crafty+ FAQ on Storz & Bickel's page, the basic temperature is 356°F, the booster is 383°F and the Super Boost raises it to 410°F; the Mighty+ page describes the same two pre-set increases of 27°F, triggered by double-clicking the power button. If you have read that one of these two "hits harder", the maker's documentation does not support it: the heater, chamber volume and temperature ceiling are the same part list. Battery life is the real gap
Storz & Bickel does not publish session counts, so this is where a named third-party source earns its place. Planet of the Vapes' comparison puts it bluntly: "The Mighty Plus gets nearly twice as many sessions on a single charge." The same page expects around 4 to 5 sessions from a full Crafty+ and eight to ten sessions from the Mighty+. If you share bowls, run long sessions or forget chargers, that difference decides the purchase on its own.
Charging is the mirror image. The Crafty+ charges faster with a two-hour fill-up time, per Planet of the Vapes, because it has less battery to fill; the Mighty+ compensates with USB-C Supercharging that Storz & Bickel rates at about 80% in 40 minutes, but only from a charger that supplies 15V@3A.
Pass-through charging: where a popular comparison gets it wrong
Planet of the Vapes' article says both devices feature pass-through charging. Storz & Bickel's own Crafty+ FAQ says the opposite: "The CRAFTY+ does not support pass-through functionality and cannot be used during charging. If you are looking for a great portable vaporizer with pass-through capability, we recommend the MIGHTY+." Go with the maker here. If you picture using the device plugged in on a desk, that settles it for the Mighty+.
Controls: screen versus phone
The Mighty+ shows its set and actual temperature on an LC display and changes it with buttons on the unit. The Crafty+ has one button that steps through three pre-sets; precise temperature changes, LED brightness and vibration settings live in the S&B Web App on a Bluetooth phone. Storz & Bickel's FAQ is clear that the app is optional and the default pre-sets work without it, so the Crafty+ is not app-dependent, but anyone who likes nudging the temperature mid-session will prefer the Mighty+.
Size and discretion
The Crafty+ weighs 0.3 lb (135 g) and measures 2.2 inches wide by 4.3 inches tall; the Mighty+ is 0.5 lb and 3.2 inches wide by 5.5 inches tall. Planet of the Vapes adds a practical detail the spec sheets skip: the Crafty+'s flat bottom lets it stand straight up while you load it, whereas "The Mighty's rounded bottom won't stand up on its own". For a jacket pocket, the Crafty+ is the only one of the two that disappears.
Heat-up time: two numbers, one answer
Storz & Bickel lists about 1 min to 356°F for both. Planet of the Vapes' table lists 60 seconds for the Mighty+ and 80 seconds for the Crafty+. The maker's figure is the official one; the retailer's figure suggests the one-battery device is a little slower from cold. Either way, neither is quick next to the Venty's 20 seconds, and if speed matters that much you should be reading the next section.
Running costs are nearly identical
Both devices share the cooling-unit design that wears and needs cleaning. Storz & Bickel's store prices a 3-piece set of Cooling Units for the Crafty+ at a special USD 37.43 (regular USD 49.90) and a Wear & Tear Set for the Mighty+ at USD 36.70, checked October 2026. Who should buy which
- Buy the Crafty+ if you want the Storz & Bickel heater in the smallest body the company makes, you vaporize alone or in short sessions, you are fine setting temperatures on a phone, and the price gap matters. Check the price at Storz & Bickel.
- Buy the Mighty+ if you run long or shared sessions, want to read and adjust temperature on the device, want to use it plugged in, or simply hate charging. Check the price at Smoke Cartel.

Should you stretch to the Venty instead?
The Venty is the flagship portable in this family, and Storz & Bickel lists it at USD 449.00 with a 20-second heat-up time and adjustable airflow up to 20 liters per minute, double the 10 liters per minute of the Mighty+ and Crafty+. If the Mighty+ appeals because of runtime and on-device controls, the Venty gives you both plus speed and a free draw; if the Crafty+ appeals because of price and size, the Venty solves neither. FAQ
Is the Crafty+ discontinued?
No. Storz & Bickel's US store listed the Crafty+ in stock at a regular USD 279.00 and a special USD 223.20 when checked in October 2026, and Smoke Cartel listed it at $279.00. The product page and quick guide are current and the device is still sold alongside the Mighty+ and Venty.
Do the Crafty+ and Mighty+ produce the same vapor?
The maker's pages give both the same heater type, the same 104°F to 410°F range and the same 1.4 cm³ ceramic-coated chamber, and Planet of the Vapes describes the vapor quality as very similar. Differences people report come down to the Mighty+ holding temperature more steadily late in a session on two batteries, not to a different heating system.
Can I use the Crafty+ while it is charging?
No. Storz & Bickel's FAQ states the Crafty+ does not support pass-through functionality and cannot be used during charging, and points to the Mighty+ for that feature. The Mighty+ bridges its batteries when fed by a sufficiently powerful supply and confirms pass-through on its display.
Which one works better with a water pipe?

Are these adult-only products?
Yes. Smoke Cartel's listing states the site is intended for adults 21 years of age or older, and Storz & Bickel labels both devices as suitable for dry herbs and not for tobacco, tobacco products or nicotine. This guide is written for adult buyers.
Which should a first-time Storz & Bickel buyer choose?
The Mighty+ is the easier device to live with because the display removes the guesswork, but the Crafty+ delivers the same heater for less. If the price difference is what makes a Storz & Bickel device possible for you, the Crafty+ is the right call; otherwise the Mighty+ is the more forgiving default.
